| Irene Orda, born in Zurich, set the foundation for her artistic career in her fourth year, when she received her first ballet lessons. Thus began her joy of dance, movement and music. She continued with it until her Zurich school years ended. 1978 – 1980 she studied eurythmics in Stuttgart and devoted herself intensely to Indian temple dance. 1980 – 1984 she lived in Vienna and studied Pantomime with Samy Molcho. In addition she took acting lessons and continued her education in Indian temple dance and eurythmics. In Vienna she also obtained her matura. 1984 – 1985 she moved to Paris, in order to further her education at the Ecole de Mime “Jacques Lecoq” and with Ella Jaroszowicz “Ecole de Mime Magenia”. There she learned to combine dance and pantomime. Her additional course development included tap dance, acting, ballet and Indian temple dance. 1986 back in Zurich, she developed her first full-length solo program and performed it in small theaters and at gala evenings. 1990 – 1992 she continued working on her pantomime with Samy Molcho. Evolving from pantomime she found her way to body language, which she studied with Samy Molcho as well. Activities since 1993: In addition to the seminar topic body language, which she presents for well-known companies, she holds workshops in pantomime and Indian temple dance. She also gives guest lectures at acting schools and designs choreography for theater pieces. Her full-length programs are “Highlights of life” (pantomime, dance and text) and “What a wonderful day” (pantomime). She also performs “Images of music”. Through pantomime she shows dance portrayal of music works (for example Liederhalle Stuttgart with the Stuttgarter philharmonic and in the Tonhalle Zurich with the Tonhalle orchestra.
